Senior Backend Engineer (L4)- Revenue

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of the Hedging team's exposure and position management, hedge decisioning, venue routing, market making, and Cost, PnL, and net revenue systems.
• Lead design discussions, resolve technical decisions, and break ambiguous initiatives into executable workstreams.
• Act as the senior hands-on engineer through coding, design reviews, mentoring, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Maintain a high quality bar through testing, observability, reconciliation, operational safety, and technology debt reduction.
• Drive technical execution with Product, Operations, treasury, and finance, taking accountability for adoption and delivery outcomes.
• Lead production incident response and convert post-mortems into durable systemic fixes.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience building and operating production backend systems, including technical leadership of a team or workstream.
• Experience in a trading company, exchange, or brokerage working on live trade, order, or risk paths.
• Strong system design, object-oriented programming, low-level design, and technical decision-making skills.
• Production engineering experience with observability, debugging, performance tuning, and incident response for 24/7 systems.
• Hands-on coding ability, high agency, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to lead through influence.
• Data-driven communication skills, including RFCs, design documents, and written updates in an async-heavy environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with hedging, exposure, or risk management systems.
• Experience with multi-venue execution, smart order routing, market making, PnL, cost basis, position keeping, or reconciliation.
• Experience with FX, multi-currency systems, or cross-border payments.
• Experience mentoring engineers and partnering with an Engineering Manager on delivery.
