Senior Backend Engineer (L3) - Revenue (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate services for inventory and exposure tracking, hedge decisioning, venue routing, and WAC, PnL, and net revenue calculation.
• Own features end-to-end, from scoping and technical design through delivery, rollout, adoption, and operational health.
• Integrate with external venues and liquidity providers, and develop smart routing strategies that remain resilient when dependencies degrade.
• Build for correctness and timeliness on a live risk path, including retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and safe recovery.
• Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerting, participate in on-call, and convert incidents and post-mortems into durable fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, Trading, treasury, and finance while reviewing code, providing design feedback, and mentoring L1/L2 engineers.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Trading background with experience building systems on a live trade, order, or risk path at a trading company, exchange, or brokerage.
• Strong system design, data modelling, API design, distributed systems, object-oriented programming, and low-level design fundamentals.
• Production engineering experience with observability, complex-system debugging, performance tuning, and incident response.
• Ability to work accurately with positions, cost basis, PnL, money, and numerical reconciliation.
• Hands-on, high-agency approach, comfort with ambiguity, strong written communication, data-driven decision-making, and effective use of AI coding tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with hedging, exposure, or risk management systems.
• Experience with multi-venue execution, smart order routing, market making, PnL, cost basis, position keeping, or reconciliation.
• Experience with FX, multi-currency systems, cross-border payments, market data, order books, or market microstructure.
