Director, SOX Compliance

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end SOX 404 compliance program, including scoping, risk assessments, documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Develop and maintain process narratives, risk and control matrices, flowcharts, and a comprehensive controls inventory.
• Design or oversee controls testing in accordance with PCAOB standards and manage walkthroughs and audit timelines.
• Assess control deficiencies, coordinate remediation, and develop reliance strategies with external auditors.
• Advise Accounting, Finance, Tax, IT, Legal, and HR process owners on financial reporting controls and ITGCs.
• Prepare SOX reporting and metrics for executive leadership and the Audit Committee, and deliver controls training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or external audit, including at least 3 years leading a SOX program.
• Deep knowledge of PCAOB auditing standards, the COSO 2013 framework, and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience documenting complex business processes, designing controls, evaluating ITGCs, and working with cloud-based ERP systems.
• Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills, including experience working with senior leadership and external auditors.
• Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check.

• Experience building or scaling a SOX program in a pre-IPO or newly public company.
• NetSuite experience.
• Big Four public accounting background.
