Component Engineer and Technical Library Specialist

What you will do

• Lead the evaluation, qualification, selection, and approval of electrical and electronic components.
• Govern new component introduction and approval workflows across ECAD and PLM systems.
• Own the electrical component library, including schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, parameters, datasheets, compliance documents, and manufacturer information.
• Define library standards, naming conventions, metadata requirements, lifecycle states, and approval processes.
• Monitor component obsolescence, PCNs, EOL notices, availability, lead times, and supply-chain risks while coordinating alternates and mitigation plans.
• Support design reviews, derating and reliability assessments, manufacturability reviews, NPI activities, and engineering training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience in component engineering, electrical hardware engineering, PCB design support, or ECAD/PLM library management.
• Strong knowledge of passives, semiconductors, connectors, magnetics, power devices, protection devices, sensors, and electromechanical components.
• Hands-on experience with ECAD and PLM platforms such as Altium, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Arena, Agile PLM, Teamcenter, or similar systems.
• Experience managing component parameters, manufacturer part numbers, approved vendors, lifecycle data, schematic symbols, and PCB footprints.
• Fluent English, spoken and written, plus familiarity with RoHS, REACH, UL, IEC, or other relevant compliance standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with power electronics, industrial electronics, energy systems, or automotive electronics.
• Experience working with global cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
