Lead, Enterprise Risk Management (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the office and occasional business travel.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design and lead the phased implementation of an enterprise-wide ERM framework aligned with strategy, growth objectives, and risk appetite.
• Establish risk governance, escalation pathways, oversight structures, and forward-looking reporting for management and the Board.
• Identify, assess, prioritize, and monitor enterprise risks and mitigation actions across business functions.
• Support the development of a risk-driven Internal Control System by linking risks to control objectives and designing proportionate controls.
• Embed internal controls into business processes and systems in partnership with first-line functions, Integrity & Compliance, Finance, and Internal Audit.
• Promote consistent risk and control language, accountability, and management ownership across the organization.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, internal controls, internal audit, compliance, finance, or a related field.
• Experience designing and implementing ERM frameworks or supporting Internal Control Systems in complex or growing organizations.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between enterprise risk, operational risk, and internal controls.
• Experience engaging senior executives and Boards on risk-related matters.
• Strategic and systems-thinking ability, strong program-building skills, sound judgment, and clear communication.
• Ability to work in the Charlotte headquarters office 4 days per week and travel for company events when required.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, mobility, or other operationally complex and regulated industries.
• Experience in multinational or matrixed environments.
• Familiarity with COSO ERM and COSO Internal Control frameworks.
• Experience supporting rapid growth, transformation, or governance maturation.
