Controller (Retail Industry)

My Financial Partner provides fractional accounting support and financial tools to small businesses owned by hirify.global.

What you will do

• Partner with presidents and employee-owners of multiple retail companies as a financial advisor.
• Lead full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and payroll.
• Manage month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and deferred revenue adjustments.
• Oversee inventory valuation, shrinkage reduction, multi-location stock management, and seasonal adjustments.
• Maintain 13-week cash-flow forecasts and support working-capital optimization.
• Prepare reporting dashboards, variance analyses, KPIs, budgets, and quarterly planning materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting role.
• Proven retail accounting experience, preferably with multi-location operations.
• Experience with small to medium-sized businesses; fractional or outsourced accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, POS systems, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
