Operational Lead (Culinary)

Location: Remote; 70–75%+ travel expected

What you will do

• Support employee-owned food and beverage businesses through turnarounds, transformations, and growth initiatives.
• Improve menus, kitchen operations, food costs, labor costs, and overall profitability.
• Develop, engineer, cost, and implement menu and operational changes in working kitchens.
• Partner with company presidents in co-management situations and lead businesses as an interim President when required.
• Transition newly acquired companies into the hirify.global network.
• Lead culinary and operational decisions using financial analysis and business performance data.

Requirements

• Meaningful culinary experience in a scratch kitchen as a chef, kitchen manager, culinary director, or in a similar role.
• Operational or small business leadership experience, including the ability to oversee P&L, COGS, labor costs, and company financials.
• Track record of menu development, menu engineering, recipe costing, and food cost management.
• People leadership experience, preferably managing kitchen or restaurant teams.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, project-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial, adaptable, low-ego, action-oriented approach with a willingness to handle difficult operational and financial issues.
