Senior Accountant

Location: Madrid Office, hybrid

Salary: €65,000–€75,000 per year, plus equity and bonus

A growing organization with a global Corporate Accounting team supporting scalable accounting operations and continued business growth.

What you will do

• Support the monthly accounting close for the Spain entity and assigned US general ledger activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reporting materials.
• Perform balance sheet and P&L flux analysis, investigating and explaining material variances.
• Manage Spain payroll accounting, including payroll entries, accruals, benefits, taxes, and reconciliations.
• Support the Workday Financials implementation through testing, process design, data validation, user acceptance testing, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Improve accounting workflows through automation, stronger controls, standardization, audits, and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multinational organization.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
• Experience with payroll accounting, foreign currency accounting, intercompany transactions, and ERP systems.
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from the Madrid office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workday Financials.
• Experience supporting entities across Europe and the United States.
• Experience with Spain statutory accounting and local compliance requirements.
• CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent accounting qualification.
