Technical Director of Quality Assurance

Location: Remote within the continental United States; listed location is Dallas, Texas. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance are required.

What you will do

• Define and drive enterprise test automation and quality engineering strategies across multiple products, platforms, programs, and delivery teams.
• Establish testing standards, governance frameworks, quality metrics, dashboards, quality indicators, and executive reporting.
• Lead quality planning, resource allocation, release readiness, risk mitigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions across programs.
• Oversee scalable automation frameworks and testing initiatives for web, API, middleware, data, cloud, mobile, and AI-enabled applications.
• Integrate automated testing, quality gates, AI evaluation capabilities, and DevSecOps practices into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead and mentor QA managers, test leads, automation architects, engineers, and distributed quality engineering teams while partnering with executive, product, engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, test automation, and software delivery, including 7+ years leading enterprise QA organizations or quality engineering teams.
• Experience defining enterprise-wide quality strategies, governance models, testing standards, quality metrics, executive dashboards, KPIs, release readiness metrics, and risk-based reporting.
• Experience with cloud-native, web, API, middleware, data, and AI-enabled platforms; CI/CD and DevSecOps quality gates; cloud migration; and enterprise modernization programs.
• Strong knowledge of Selenium, Playwright, TestNG, Postman, REST Assured, ReadyAPI/SoapUI, Groovy, Java, Python, GitHub, Jenkins, and AWS services including Lambda, CloudWatch, and Step Functions.
• U.S. citizenship, successful background check, fingerprinting at a government facility, and ability to obtain and maintain Government/Public Trust clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• ISTQB Advanced/Test Manager, CSQE, AWS, SAFe Agilist, or PMP certification.
• Experience in healthcare, government, financial services, or other regulated industries, including Department of Veterans Affairs or health-related organizations.
• Expertise in AI testing, model validation, automated evaluation frameworks, accessibility testing, Section 508, JAWS, and ANDI.
