Staff Quality Assurance Engineer (SSD)

Location: Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia — onsite at the Penang SDSM Office

What you will do

• Represent product quality as the Sustaining Program Manager in core teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Own product quality and reliability during the sustaining phase and drive activities to meet expectations.
• Lead resolution of quality-related issues during New Product Introduction and sustaining phases.
• Communicate quality excursions to executive management and cross-functional core teams.
• Lead Stop Ship and Quality Alert Critical processes, including risk assessment, containment, 8D root cause analysis, CAPA, and lessons learned.
• Coordinate product transitions, kick-off reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, and continuous improvement with NPI counterparts and other quality program managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• Preferred 8+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience delivering projects in globally distributed, cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Strong knowledge of FMEA, 8D methodology, and Statistical Process Control.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, statistical analysis software, and issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Strong communication, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and executive presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of storage systems, including performance, quality, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience testing Flash memory and storage solutions, including reliability and endurance evaluation.
• ISO 9001 auditor experience and a Six Sigma Green Belt.
