Frontend Engineer (AI)

Salary: $170,000–$400,000 annually

What you will do

• Build and own frontend surfaces across web, mobile web, and reusable component systems.
• Develop interfaces for real-time, streaming AI agent interactions, including partial responses, mid-stream tool invocations, and out-of-order state updates.
• Translate product and design concepts into fast, responsive, polished, and trustworthy interfaces.
• Build accessible and performant components that scale across product surfaces.
• Instrument frontend releases, track performance, identify regressions, and improve the product using real usage data.
• Collaborate with platform engineers on APIs and data contracts connecting the frontend to the agent runtime.

Requirements

• Deep frontend engineering expertise with modern React or an equivalent framework and state management patterns.
• Experience building real-time interfaces using streaming data, websockets, and optimistic updates.
• Strong focus on frontend polish, animation quality, loading states, responsiveness, and 60fps interactions.
• Experience shipping consumer products used and trusted by real people.
• Curiosity about AI, LLM-powered products, and agent user experience.
• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to iterate effectively in ambiguous environments.

• Experience at a fast-growing AI or consumer product company.
