Senior Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer (RISC-V)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan. Applicants must provide proof of the right to work in Taiwan and be authorized to access export-controlled technology, or hirify.global must be able to obtain the necessary approvals.

What you will do

• Lead SWQA validation initiatives and oversee a small team delivering RISC-V embedded software validation on QEMU, FPGA, and RTL platforms.
• Define the technical roadmap, test strategies, and quality plans for product and release goals.
• Partner with software, hardware, and program teams to align priorities, schedules, and test readiness.
• Establish automation and validation standards while mentoring engineers and improving team execution.
• Own test configuration management to maintain scalable, traceable validation coverage.
• Drive failure triage, root cause analysis, quality metrics, and release readiness across software, hardware, and infrastructure.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software test automation, software quality assurance, embedded systems validation, or related fields.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional validation efforts and coordinating multiple technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with pre-silicon environments such as QEMU, FPGA, or RTL simulators.
• Strong experience with Python-based test automation frameworks such as PyTest or Robot Framework.
• Proficiency with Git, Jenkins test pipelines, Jira, and related collaboration tools.
• Strong C/C++ debugging skills and experience validating embedded software stacks, Linux, bare-metal systems, and development environments.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of RISC-V software ecosystems and architecture-specific validation challenges.
• Experience with GitHub, Grafana, Make, CMake, Yocto, build systems, and system integration workflows.
• Experience providing technical guidance on debugging and validation code quality best practices.
