Senior Backend Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate secure, scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud applications for digital twin and simulation systems.
• Build data services, real-time processing pipelines, event-driven workflows, and queue-based processing for robotics and operational data.
• Support simulation orchestration and cloud execution platforms using Google Cloud services including Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Batch, and Cloud Storage.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring, logging, security configurations, and cost optimization.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code automation with GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, Docker, and Terraform.
• Collaborate with software, robotics, data, QA, and product stakeholders while documenting architecture, operations, and deployment processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related software engineering roles.
• Strong Node.js backend development experience and comfort with TypeScript-heavy or shared monorepo environments.
• Experience designing scalable backend services, APIs, data-processing services, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on Google Cloud experience, including Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Batch, Pub/Sub, Cloud Build, Cloud Storage, IAM, Secret Manager, and Cloud Logging/Monitoring.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, deployment automation, infrastructure as code, Terraform, data pipelines, event-driven systems, databases, and messaging or streaming platforms.
• Working English proficiency is required for independent communication and presentation of technical concepts in an international environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or .NET, AWS or other major cloud platforms, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with robotics, simulation, digital twins, warehouse automation, IoT, high-volume telemetry, or AI/ML-powered backend systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Windsurf.
