Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise

Location: Munich, Germany. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time. Travel to customer sites across Germany is required.

What you will do

• Guide German enterprise customers from initial conversations through technical evaluation, proof of value, procurement, and the decision to build on Claude.
• Advise engineering teams on Claude Platform architecture, agent design, evaluation, deployment, security, compliance, data residency, and governance.
• Define target architectures and delivery standards with systems integration partners, remaining the customer’s technical advisor throughout deployment.
• Build and present business value cases for C-level and senior executives, connecting AI capabilities to cost, revenue, risk, and time-to-market outcomes.
• Run executive briefings, technical workshops, enablement sessions, proofs of concept, and technical due diligence.
• Share patterns from enterprise engagements with Product, Engineering, and the wider Applied AI team.

Requirements

• Native or fluent German, written and spoken, for daily work with German executive and engineering audiences.
• At least 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder.
• Experience in pre-sales or technical advisory roles selling complex solutions to large enterprises, ideally in the German market.
• Production experience with LLM-powered applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying production applications, plus familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and architecture requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience with value-based selling, quantified business cases, and senior decision-maker presentations.
• Experience working across financial services, healthcare, retail, or manufacturing.
