Base salary: $95,000–$155,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

Company

hirify.global develops autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors for space superiority and threat response.

What you will do

  • Design, model, and analyze imaging systems for space-based payloads from concept through fielding.
  • Develop end-to-end performance models covering radiometry, signal chains, and image quality.
  • Execute hardware characterization and metrology for optical assemblies, detectors, and sensors.
  • Create optical specifications, interface requirements, test plans, and supporting test infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to flow down and verify imaging requirements.
  • Present performance analyses and test results, while tracking and mitigating imaging-system risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, optics, imaging science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in optical systems engineering, imaging-system development, or a related technical role.
  • Experience with optical-system modeling, analysis, or characterization.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or a comparable language for engineering analysis and data processing.
  • Strong fundamentals in optics, radiometry, and imaging physics, with effective written and verbal communication.
  • Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • Radiometric budgeting and end-to-end signal-chain performance analysis experience.
  • Space-based imaging, remote sensing, or other space-application experience.
  • Hands-on imaging metrology, optical bench testing, detector characterization, and image-quality measurement.
  • Experience with stray-light analysis, wavefront-error budgeting, optical tolerance tools, EO/IR sensors, or image-processing pipelines.
  • Startup or similarly dynamic-environment experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Mission-critical work on hardware that is shipped to space.
  • Collaboration across payloads, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
  • Health, dental, vision, HRA/HSA options, paid time off, and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) and parental leave.
  • Equity compensation.
