Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer - Control Electronics

Location: Onsite at the Bothell, Washington office; ability to be onsite the majority of the time is required. Up to 15% domestic travel.

Salary: $131,962–$172,773 base annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own NPI and DFMA activities for control electronics PCBA and box-build assemblies.
• Review schematics, layouts, stackups, component selection, enclosures, harness routing, and connector placement for manufacturability.
• Build complete technical data packages, including BOMs, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and manufacturing instructions.
• Lead prototype-to-production transitions, first article builds, process qualification, and production readiness verification across sites.
• Develop process flows, assembly sequences, quality checkpoints, and work instructions for controls rack integration.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, systems, planning, supply chain, production, technicians, and manufacturing partners to resolve risks and align materials and capacity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing or NPI engineering experience focused on electronics hardware, PCBA, and box builds.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with schematics, PCB layouts, DFM feedback, SMT, reflow, wave soldering, hand soldering, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001.
• Experience with box builds, chassis integration, cable harnessing, connector installation, and electronics manufacturing documentation.
• Experience leading distributed NPI handoffs and managing technical risks across concurrent projects.
• Experience with PLM or ERP systems such as Duro, NetSuite, Arena, or similar.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating and cabling 19-inch control racks, including power distribution and inter-chassis interfaces.
• Familiarity with RF electronics, DAC/ADC-based control systems, precision analog electronics, or control electronics architecture.
• Experience with connector DFMA, Python-based test automation, diagnostic tooling, or converting R&D prototypes into reproducible contract-manufacturer-ready products.
