Experienced Stress Analysis Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and analyzing primary and secondary aerospace structures across concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, manufacturing, testing, and flight with an accent on finite element modeling, composite and metallic structures, and customer reporting. Focus on developing structural solutions, performing dynamic and thermal analysis, and leading engineers across design, manufacturing, and program management.

Location: Englewood, Colorado, United States

Salary: $95,000–$230,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives

What you will do

  • Analyze primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems across concept, prototype, detailed design, manufacturing, testing, and flight.
  • Create finite element models, develop analysis results, and present findings to customers.
  • Identify structural issues, develop solutions, and communicate impacts across internal and external engineering teams.
  • Support program-critical decisions by collaborating with program management, design, and manufacturing.
  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines and organizations.
  • Develop supporting analysis materials, including finite element models and optimization trades.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of proven engineering experience.
  • Engineering degree, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Experience designing composite and metallic parts and assemblies.
  • Proficiency with FEMAP, NASTRAN, or equivalent software.
  • Experience with aerospace structural analysis, including laminate plate theory, composite analysis, dynamic and thermal analysis, and classic hand methods.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace materials and fabrication techniques, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, or other aerospace systems.
  • Experience with Excel, MATLAB, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
  • Hands-on machining or composite layup experience.
  • Experience developing test plans and conducting structural testing.
  • Experience working on military or Department of Defense projects.
