AI Research Engineer

Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle, WA, United States

Salary: $190,000–$280,000 base salary annually, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Develop and deploy AI and machine learning models for novel therapeutic discovery and development.
• Build machine learning systems for production environments where rigor, scalability, and measurable impact are essential.
• Translate research ideas into robust, production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with AI scientists, engineers, and drug discovery experts in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Apply advanced AI techniques to complex challenges in healthcare and life sciences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least five years of industry experience in AI, machine learning, or a related role.
• Experience implementing, scaling, and deploying AI models in production environments.
• Expertise with modern deep learning toolchains and large-scale model training.
• Strong understanding of deep learning fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Nice to have

• Publication record at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
• Demonstrated industry impact in preference to publications.
