Field Application Engineer (Optical Communications)

What you will do

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support as the primary technical contact for assigned customers.
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate optical solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer training sessions, including presentations to senior technical stakeholders.
• Support product selection, system architecture design, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose root causes, resolve technical issues, and prepare technical reports and application documentation.
• Collect customer feedback and requirements for internal engineering and product management teams while maintaining customer relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in field application engineering, applications engineering, design engineering, or architecture within the optical communications industry.
• Strong knowledge of optical components and modules, including lasers, transceivers, ROADMs, and amplifiers.
• Experience with optical communication systems, network architectures, relevant standards such as OIF and ITU-T, and optical test equipment including spectrum analyzers, power meters, and BER testers.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work independently or collaboratively.
