Software Engineer, Infrastructure & Platform (AI)

Location: Fully remote, U.S.-based

Salary: $110K–$160K annually, depending on experience and location; performance-based annual bonus

What you will do

• Design and build sandboxed environments where AI models can execute code, use tools, interact with services, and complete complex tasks safely.
• Build backend services and infrastructure for large-scale, repeatable AI and agentic evaluations.
• Develop agent scaffolding and evaluation harnesses with tool-use loops, context and state management, retries, token budgets, and multi-agent workflows.
• Provision and orchestrate isolated environments using Docker, Kubernetes, virtual machines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design secure networking, permissions, secrets, credentials, and resource-isolation systems for model-driven environments.
• Improve reliability and reproducibility through APIs, automation, observability, snapshotting, debugging tools, automated testing, and telemetry.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, backend, infrastructure, platform, SRE, or distributed systems engineering.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience building production-quality software.
• Experience designing and operating backend services, APIs, or distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, virtual machines, or similar container and orchestration technologies.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud infrastructure, plus infrastructure-as-code or automation tools such as Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, authentication, permissions, infrastructure security, debugging, scalability, observability, and reproducibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer platforms, CI/CD systems, test infrastructure, sandboxes, or ephemeral compute environments.
• Experience with agent frameworks, LLM APIs, tool-calling systems, or AI evaluation infrastructure.
• Experience designing secure execution environments for untrusted or semi-trusted code.
• Background in SRE, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or developer tooling.
• Familiarity with distributed task execution, workflow orchestration, AI safety, adversarial testing, or autonomous-agent systems.
