CMF Designer (Automotive)

Location: Troy, Michigan, United States; permanent authorization to work in the United States required

Salary: $96,333–$144,499 annual base pay

What you will do

• Develop CMF strategies for vehicle interiors and exteriors across conceptual and production programs.
• Create mood boards, color palettes, material samples, inspiration boards and presentation decks.
• Define materials, finishes, textures, colors, patterns and graphics aligned with brand identity and target markets.
• Research automotive and consumer trends, forecast developments and identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
• Source materials, research suppliers and manage appearance development, approvals and master samples.
• Maintain design intent, cost efficiency and finish quality throughout production development.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in CMF or a related design field.
• BA or BS in Color and Material Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Textile Design or equivalent professional experience, supported by a portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of color, grain, gloss, texture, palettes, material trends, sustainability and automotive finish specifications.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Keyshot or equivalent tools such as Alias, VRED, Maya, CATIA or SOLIDWORKS.
• Strong communication, presentation, project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Experience with previous automotive production programs.
