Lead Ruby Engineer (Ruby/Rails)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, and user-facing web interfaces.
• Develop Ruby on Rails backend systems and responsive interfaces with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain microservice-based systems, tracing data flows across services, event streams, integrations, and data warehouses.
• Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Review code, guide team members, and contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, product teams, and client technical counterparts on end-to-end solutions.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Ruby, Rails, and React.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining microservice-based systems beyond a single service.
• Ability to understand data flows involving message queues, event streams, third-party integrations, and data warehouses.
• Proactive ownership, risk identification, effective context switching, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, or Pub/Sub.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience integrating and debugging external APIs at scale.
• Experience with distributed tracing, centralized logging, service decomposition, or monolith-to-microservices migrations.
