Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails/React)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or office-based; hirify.global can hire in any country where it has a legal entity. Listed office location: San Francisco, United States.

Base salary in the United States: $149,400–$195,050 in Zone C, $162,000–$211,500 in Zone B, or $180,000–$235,000 in Zone A per year. The role may also include benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Build and ship scalable backend-heavy fullstack features across distributed teams.
• Design robust REST APIs and contribute to accessible, customer-facing React components.
• Write performant raw SQL for complex queries, reports, and data workflows.
• Own projects end to end, including architecture, implementation, self-QA, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
• Improve backend reliability through error reporting, observability, monitoring, alerting, testing, and security practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to clarify user problems and develop pragmatic solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience building backend applications with fullstack capabilities.
• Proficiency in a modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, or Python.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and libraries such as React or Node.
• Experience building highly scalable and performant RESTful microservices.
• Fluency with a database technology such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
