TL;DR
IP Firmware Design Engineer (FPGA): Developing and verifying firmware algorithms for calibrating and training DDR5, LPDDR5, and future LPDDR memories with an accent on FPGA architectures, RTL/IP design, and Quartus Prime integration. Focus on memory-interface verification, hardware bring-up and debug, and optimizing high-speed memory solutions across silicon, software, and customer applications.

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: 91,800–132,975 CAD annually, plus performance-based incentive opportunities

What you will do

  • Design FPGA RTL and configurable IP solutions integrated with the Quartus Prime CAD tool.
  • Develop firmware algorithms for calibrating and training DDR5, LPDDR5, and future DDR/LPDDR memory devices.
  • Define, implement, and verify advanced FPGA architectures and firmware.
  • Develop verification IP, methodologies, frameworks, bus functional models, and regression tests.
  • Support hardware power-on, debugging, product releases, and rollout activities.
  • Collaborate with silicon design, validation, application engineering, and customer experience teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing or verifying digital logic hardware using SystemVerilog, Verilog, and/or VHDL.
  • At least 2 years of experience with scripting languages or software programming, such as Python, TCL, Perl, or C/C++.
  • Applicants must be eligible for any required Canada export authorizations.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, initiative, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • FPGA design experience.
  • Experience with RTL simulation environments.
  • Experience with DDR or LPDDR hardware interfaces.
  • Experience developing embedded software for I/O calibration.
