Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
Salary: $146,000–$204,500 per year, with potential pay up to $233,500 based on sustained performance.

What you will do
- Design, build, and evolve highly available services and applications, including low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Lead technical solutions from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs and improve reliability, performance, security, and scalability across multiple services.
- Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering teams to deliver reusable and extensible platforms.
- Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions safely in real-world products.
- Drive automation, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience and ownership of complex services or multi-service systems.
- Strong knowledge of system design, API design, data modeling, software design principles, and database technologies.
- Experience with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and safely applying AI/ML concepts to production products.
- Hands-on software development experience with Java, Scala, Kotlin, or similar languages.
- Experience with distributed systems, AWS, event-driven architectures, Kafka Streams or Kinesis, high-throughput microservices, caching, relational and NoSQL databases, and CI/CD practices.
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, incident management, and reliability frameworks.
- Experience leading design reviews, influencing technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and defining metrics or experiments.
- Experience with recommendation, ranking, or decisioning services and responsible AI practices.
