Commisioning Engineer PLC (m/f/d)

Location: Maia, Portugal, with mixed Home Office / On-site work and approximately 150+ days of international travel per year.

What you will do

• Oversee PLC commissioning, technical documentation, and the customer acceptance process.
• Perform on-site control-system tests, including I/O tests, Profinet configuration, and functional checks.
• Document control-related work and verify that services meet agreed specifications.
• Obtain customer approval for functional and test specifications and prepare acceptance reports.
• Support project and system integration managers with material flow system integration and technical troubleshooting.
• Ensure all required functions are tested and accepted by the customer.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, control engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of Siemens TIA software, including safety programming.
• Expertise with frequency and servo drives.
• Experience configuring Profinet and AS-i networks and using PLC programming languages such as Ladder and STL.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 150+ days per year.

• Knowledge of barcode readers and light curtains.
• Additional knowledge of industrial networks.
