Digital Assets Compliance Engineer (Blockchain)

Location: Istanbul (VADI ISTANBUL PARK), Türkiye. Hybrid work with office attendance two days per week during three weeks of each month; one week per month is fully remote. Additional remote work opportunities are available throughout August.

What you will do

• Design, build, integrate, and operate technology capabilities for digital asset compliance.
• Develop scalable, automated, explainable, and auditable controls for on-chain activity.
• Translate AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and Travel Rule obligations into technical controls, data models, APIs, and workflows.
• Support wallet risk scoring, transaction tracing, alert triage, investigations, and case management.
• Create traceable evidence trails while meeting privacy, security, data governance, and auditability requirements.
• Collaborate with global teams on solutions used across multiple ING locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Cyber Security, Mathematics, FinTech, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• Understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and suspicious activity reporting.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics, wallet risk scoring, transaction tracing, and crypto typologies.
• Awareness of Travel Rule requirements, originator and beneficiary information, and EU digital asset regulation including MiCA.
• Ability to work in a regulated banking environment with strict traceability, control evidence, privacy, security, and auditability requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, Merkle Science, Scorechain, Crystal, or similar blockchain analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of tokenization, stablecoins, CBDCs, tokenized deposits, custody, settlement, and wholesale banking use cases.
• Experience with Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Hyperledger Besu, Quorum, or Ethereum-compatible networks.
• Knowledge of DeFi protocols, decentralized exchanges, mixers, bridges, privacy-enhancing tools, and smart contract risk.
• Certifications such as CAMS, ICA, Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic, security, data engineering, or DevOps certifications.
