Principal Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build and maintain production software across core services, platforms, and AI workflows.
• Design and evolve scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, and cloud-native architectures.
• Lead the modernization of legacy systems and deliver complex initiatives from discovery and architecture through launch and continuous improvement.
• Build agentic AI systems with tool use, multi-step reasoning, workflow automation, context and memory management, guardrails, and human oversight.
• Integrate LLM systems with business workflows, APIs, data sources, and event-driven systems while implementing grounding, validation, structured outputs, monitoring, and feedback loops.
• Set technical direction, coordinate cross-functional delivery, mentor engineers, and improve AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience and a history of owning large, complex systems.
• Expert-level C# and .NET proficiency, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, distributed systems, microservices, testing strategies, and production-quality code.
• Hands-on experience delivering AI-driven and agentic AI systems, including LLMs, tool or function calling, context and memory management, and MCP-style orchestration.
• Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL, NoSQL stores, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and/or Azure, Git, and modern development workflows.
• Proven technical leadership, independent project delivery, stakeholder coordination, technical risk management, and engineer mentorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Redis, or distributed caching.
• Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Background in high-throughput or real-time AI systems and AI safety, evaluation, or governance frameworks.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum environments.
