Principal Software Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Build scalable distributed systems and services supporting tens of millions of devices connected to the IoT platform.
• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Java/Spring Boot microservices and cloud-native AWS deployments.
• Develop applications using device telemetry and metadata, including high-throughput streaming and data-processing capabilities.
• Create technical architecture documents and collaborate with development, infrastructure, QA, DevOps, product, and production support teams.
• Build operational capabilities for zero-downtime upgrades, rollback, monitoring, self-healing, repair, and operational data collection.
• Guide engineering practices, mentor engineers, and ensure code quality, security, performance, automated testing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software design and development experience, including design patterns, object-oriented design, layered architectures, distributed systems, microservices, and SaaS at scale.
• 5+ years of cloud technology experience, preferably with AWS, plus strong experience with Kafka and data-streaming technologies.
• Strong experience with Grails, MySQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot, JavaScript/Node.js, HTML5, AJAX, and React.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS deployment pipelines, GitHub, and GitLab.
• Hands-on GenAI experience during the last 1–3 years, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, and inference optimization.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
