Senior Product Engineer (Backend) (Node.js/TypeScript)

Location: London, UK (Hybrid), or UK (Remote)

Salary: £95,000–£125,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build, operate, and continuously enhance the internal technology platform.
• Use TypeScript, Node.js, and GCP to advance the product and company.
• Lead projects end-to-end to solve customer problems.
• Architect and re-architect backend systems for performance, reliability, security, and scale.
• Design REST API contracts for internal and external consumers.
• Represent Product and Engineering values internally and externally.

Requirements

• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems.
• Excellent knowledge of modern cloud-native systems architecture.
• Expertise with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Track record of ownership and product delivery.
• Strong problem-solving attitude and interest in distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas and influence stakeholders across Engineering, Product, and Design.

Nice to have

• Open-source contribution or participation experience.
• Interest in or experience mentoring other team members.
• Experience with data-rich backend applications or large volumes of real-time data.
• Interest in experimenting with new ideas, tools, techniques, and technologies.
