Technical Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week required at the Basingstoke or London office in the UK

What you will do

• Lead the squad in bringing next-generation sports tracking products through field trials and commercial launch.
• Shape an AI-first, agentic development culture and own the development environment within security and intellectual-property guardrails.
• Set development standards, create team plans, lead hiring, and recruit engineers with large-scale agentic development experience.
• Turn product vision into managed backlogs, sprint plans, execution roadmaps, and quality gates.
• Line-manage senior engineers, support career development, and mentor the team in orchestration and strategic judgment.
• Partner with Product Leadership and the Technical Authority on architecture, sequencing, continuous delivery, and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams through continuous delivery and structured execution.
• Strong full-stack or platform engineering background, including data pipelines and edge-to-cloud compute architecture.
• Deep practical experience using AI-assisted and agentic development tools as a default workflow, with experience demonstrating fluency at scale.
• Strong balance of engineering excellence, product thinking, commercial ownership, and business impact.
• Empathetic, growth-oriented leadership style focused on building and developing high-performing teams.
