Senior Design Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid schedule at 1 Grant Way, Brentford, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Partner with designers, product managers, engineers, and user researchers to build prototypes for design exploration, usability testing, experimentation, and stakeholder alignment.
• Translate early concepts into interactive, high-fidelity prototypes across web, mobile, and TV platforms.
• Design and build internal tools, utilities, Figma plugins, and AI-powered workflows that improve design quality, speed, and scalability.
• Integrate live or simulated data by building or consuming APIs, and maintain shared toolkits, frameworks, and codebases for prototyping.
• Own technical and creative projects from concept through execution, including experimental frameworks and codebases.
• Mentor other design engineers and promote stronger craft, technical quality, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in design engineering, front-end engineering, or a related hybrid role.
• Very strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript, and React.
• Experience with generative AI tools and integrating AI capabilities into prototypes, internal tools, or workflows.
• Strong experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, APIs, live or structured data, version control, peer code reviews, and shared coding standards.
• Understanding of interaction design principles, user experience best practices, and modern design workflows, supported by a relevant portfolio and code samples.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaborate across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Progressive Web Apps, Figma plugins and the Figma API, video content, or media-rich interfaces.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Next.js, LightningJS, Node, GraphQL, cloud platforms, and related development tools.
• Experience with React Native, Swift, SwiftUI, mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, or deployment workflows.
• Experience building products for international audiences, video streaming, TV platforms, or large-scale consumer applications.
