Consultant, Investment Accounting (Finance)

Location: Columbus, Ohio — 1 hirify.global Plaza; must reside within 35 miles. Hybrid schedule: 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

Salary: $97,000–$180,000 annually. Expected starting range: $97,000–$145,000.

What you will do

• Research, analyze, and implement new or revised investment accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and review complex investment accounting transactions, financial statements, reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Support quarterly investment impairment analysis, investment consolidation evaluations, and portfolio-wide risk activities.
• Advise management and business partners on GAAP, accounting for new investments or unusual transactions, and financial reporting requirements.
• Lead projects involving new or enhanced accounting systems, processes, and workflows.
• Coordinate complex financial information for internal and external auditors, the IRS, state examiners, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Undergraduate studies in accounting, finance, or business administration; an accounting degree is preferred.
• Seven years of investment accounting experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Knowledge of GAAP, regulatory requirements, complex financial statement preparation, consolidation, taxation, and investment accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, financial document interpretation, and project management skills.
• Must reside within 35 miles of 1 hirify.global Plaza in Columbus, Ohio.
• This position does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization, and hirify.global does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

Nice to have

• Progress toward a CPA designation.
