TL;DR
Senior Business Risk Analyst, Operations & Client Support (Operational Risk/Financial Services): Strengthening the operational risk and control environment for client-facing clearing and support functions with an accent on risk assessments, control effectiveness, and remediation tracking. Focus on investigating risk events, leading RCSAs and deep-dive reviews, assessing change risks, and developing mitigation strategies with business stakeholders.

Location: Flexible hybrid schedule in Toronto at 483 Bay Street, moving to the Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway in late 2026; current work authorization for Canada is required.

Salary: CAD 46.00–65.00 per hour

Fidelity Clearing Canada is an independent clearing broker and custodian providing trade execution, clearing, custody, and back-office support services to Canadian brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms.

What you will do

  • Partner with client-facing operations and support teams to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks.
  • Execute risk assessments, issue and risk-event management, action-plan tracking, reporting, and key risk indicator monitoring.
  • Investigate operational risk events and near misses, perform root-cause analysis, and develop sustainable mitigation strategies.
  • Lead Risk and Control Self-Assessments, targeted risk reviews, deep-dive assessments, and control testing support.
  • Assess risks associated with new products, regulatory changes, process enhancements, and system implementations.
  • Advise business leaders, provide risk education, and collaborate with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in risk management, ideally in securities or banking.
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Current authorization to work in Canada is required.
  • This is a full-time secondment/contract opportunity until November 2027.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of CIRO, securities regulations, and Canadian financial industry practices.
  • Knowledge of capital markets products, securities lending, treasury, liquidity, collateral, and settlement processes.
  • Experience in a clearing broker, custodian, wealth management, or business transformation environment.
  • CFA or FRM designation.
  • Experience with risk reporting tools, dashboards, or data analytics solutions.
