Head of Risk, Payments (Fintech)

What you will do

• Set and lead risk, fraud-prevention, and compliance strategy across payment products and global operations.
• Build scalable risk frameworks, policies, controls, and escalation processes.
• Guide AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud, customer and business verification, and data privacy risk programs.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to integrate controls into payment flows and internal systems.
• Use data, automation, and compliance technology to improve risk detection and control effectiveness.
• Advise on payment risks across cards, ACH, wires, and real-time payment rails while supporting expansion into new markets.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in risk, compliance, or fraud within payments, fintech, or financial services.
• Leadership experience across risk and compliance programs for payment products.
• Experience working with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Data teams.
• Ability to assess jurisdiction-specific requirements and manage third-party risk, KYC, transaction monitoring, fraud, and sanctions technology providers.
