Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: New York City; hybrid

Salary: $215,000–$265,000 per year plus equity

Its affiliated AI-native law firm, Norm Law, uses the same legal intelligence platform to advise institutions across private funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, registered funds, and financial regulation.

What you will do

• Lead product design for practice-group-specific software delivered by the Deployment Team.
• Join client and partner scoping conversations and turn ambiguous needs into workflows, prototypes, and product decisions.
• Design workflows that help clients and legal teams understand progress, make decisions, and move matters forward.
• Prototype in code or with AI-assisted tools to accelerate learning and product development.
• Work with Forward Deployed Engineers through implementation and QA, providing hands-on product and design feedback.
• Identify reusable products, components, interaction patterns, and design-system contributions from client-specific solutions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of product design experience, including ownership of complex B2B or enterprise products.
• Strong interaction, visual, and systems design skills, with experience designing complex workflows, data-dense software, or client-facing products.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, move quickly, and maintain product quality and judgment.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and experience explaining design decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Experience partnering directly with engineers from scoping through implementation, plus a portfolio showing shipped product work.
• Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted design, prototyping, and development tools; AI usage must be demonstrated during interviews.

• Experience in forward-deployed, solutions, consulting, agency, or other client-embedded environments.
• Experience designing legal, financial, healthcare, or other expert professional workflows.
• Experience with collaboration tools connecting external users to complex internal workflows.
• Comfort with Git, React, and version-controlled prototyping workflows.
• Experience at an early-stage or fast-growing company.
