TL;DR
Principal Machine Learning Engineer, Geometric Vision (Autonomous Driving): Building 3D foundation models, geometric vision systems, and scalable supervision pipelines for autonomous-driving vehicles with an accent on multi-view geometry, reconstruction, neural rendering, and multimodal sensor learning. Focus on designing and training models at fleet scale, developing offline SLAM and 3D reconstruction systems, and deploying neural networks under real-time onboard constraints.

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; full-time hybrid role based in the office

Salary: $407,330–$460,020 per year, plus equity

What you will do

  • Design, train, and evaluate 3D foundation models and world models using large-scale driving data.
  • Develop architectures for 3D perception, geometric reasoning, reconstruction, and scene dynamics across space and time.
  • Build scalable data-generation, auto-labeling, offline SLAM, 3D reconstruction, calibration, and ground-truth pipelines.
  • Apply multi-view geometry, neural rendering, NeRFs, Gaussian Splatting, implicit representations, and feedforward 3D modeling.
  • Fuse camera, radar, LiDAR, and other sensor data into rich representations of the physical world.
  • Set technical direction and optimize and deploy models in production autonomous-driving systems.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in 3D computer vision, geometric vision, or 3D machine learning.
  • Experience designing, training, and evaluating modern deep-learning models at scale with PyTorch or a comparable framework.
  • Strong foundations in geometry, linear algebra, probability, optimization, and 3D transformations.
  • Excellent software engineering skills in Python and C++.
  • Experience taking difficult research problems through data, training, evaluation, or deployment pipelines.
  • Principal-level technical leadership and experience setting research and engineering direction.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale vision pre-training, self-supervised learning, video or generative models, and learned scene dynamics.
  • Experience with multimodal perception, distributed training, large-scale experimentation, and deployment on resource-constrained hardware.
