Sr. Software Engineer, Cloud Platform (AI & Robotics)

What you will do

• Build a secure connectivity layer between deployed robotic vision systems and Apera for software deployment, telemetry, and support.
• Design enterprise-scale account, permissions, authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant access models.
• Migrate deployment and device-fleet infrastructure from on-premise hardware to the cloud, with controlled versioning, distribution, and role-based update authorization.
• Build data pipelines from field devices into internal systems for triage, labelling, debugging, and model training.
• Implement cost attribution, data lifecycle policies, development and production separation, and cloud-provider evaluations.
• Improve internal tools with documentation, authentication, front-door access, status tracking, and failed-job alerts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience building backend or platform infrastructure.
• Strong cloud experience, preferably AWS, and fluency with infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with migrations, networking, VPNs, tunnelling, NAT traversal, certificates, and identity management.
• Practical experience with authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant account models.
• Experience operating under SOC 2, ISO 27001, TISAX, or a similar compliance framework.
• Fluent Python, job orchestration or data pipeline experience, and strong observability and cost-management instincts.

Nice to have

• Experience managing edge or embedded-device fleets.
• Experience with air-gapped or disconnected deployments and containerized delivery to customer hardware.
• Background in robotics, manufacturing, or another industrial setting.
