Software Developer II (AI)

Location: Remote – Canada

Salary: CAD 70,000–75,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop software applications from business and technical specifications.
• Contribute across analysis, design, implementation, verification, release, and maintenance activities.
• Develop and execute unit, component, and integration tests while meeting coding and test coverage standards.
• Perform code reviews, identify defects, and recommend technical improvements.
• Create technical and end-user documentation and investigate issues in assigned projects.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and the Software Development Team Lead on requirements, estimates, designs, and development practices.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience with Java or .NET.
• Experience with application servers, web servers such as Apache HTTP Server or NGINX, and GitLab version control.
• Experience with Maven, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD and with relational and non-relational database design and development.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools, including evaluating, editing, and verifying generated code before merging.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; employment sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Secure coding experience and familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
• Experience building software in an agentic fashion.
