Flight Test Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Must be based in Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Own the integration path from code branch to flight, including deployment and validation through SIL, HIL, and flight tests.
• Operate and maintain simulation systems for autonomy, perception, and flight control stacks.
• Develop automated regression tests and integrate them into CI pipelines.
• Plan and execute flight test campaigns, including safety checklists and ground station operations.
• Triage field failures, reproduce issues in the lab, and maintain traceability between software builds and flight results.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience integrating and testing software on complex hardware systems like UAS or robotics.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with the ability to read and debug C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with simulation or hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
• Willingness to travel to test sites and work in the field.

Nice to have

• Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, or ROS2.
• Prior UAS flight test or range operations experience; Part 107 certification.
• Familiarity with GPS-denied navigation, VIO/SLAM, or sensor fusion systems.
