Underwriting Supervisor (Eastern Region)

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, including applicable geographic adjustments.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, develop, and manage underwriting staff across the Eastern region.
• Oversee underwriting workflows, allocate workloads, support staffing needs, and assist with business processing during peak periods.
• Evaluate underwriting information, make final underwriting determinations, and prepare and process policies and endorsements.
• Develop and interpret underwriting guidelines, FCIC documentation, and Underwriting Manual standards to maintain consistency and compliance.
• Analyze policy data, monitor underwriting quality metrics, resolve FCIC errors, and manage reporting activities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Claims, Compliance, Accounting, agents, policyholders, and other business partners to resolve complex underwriting issues and improve customer service.

Requirements

• At least six years of relevant and progressively responsible underwriting experience.
• Previous agriculture or crop insurance industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, procedures, industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and support strategic business initiatives.
