TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer (Fintech): Designing and developing acquisition and onboarding products for earned wage access with an accent on distributed architectures, microservice integrations, and maintainable code. Focus on building REST/gRPC services, evaluating consistency and coordination strategies, leading cross-team initiatives, and applying AI-native development workflows.
Location: Remote or hybrid from the Mexico City office, Mexico. Visa sponsorship and immigration support are not available.

What you will do
- Design and implement new features for the member acquisition and onboarding experience.
- Design and deliver microservice integrations through REST and gRPC APIs.
- Break down complex distributed-system problems and create elegant, maintainable solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews.
- Define technical direction, contribute to roadmap planning, manage project timelines and risks, and lead cross-team engineering initiatives.
- Use AI tools to accelerate design, implementation, and debugging across the stack.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience delivering software in a collaborative environment.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Expertise in trade-off analysis for distributed architectures.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and ability to understand multiple languages; current technologies include C# and Kotlin.
- Experience with clean architecture and relational and document databases.
- Experience with AI-native development workflows and tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
