TL;DR
COBOL IBM (Mainframe) Developer (Mainframe): Developing and maintaining mission-critical Mainframe applications for the GNP technical team with an accent on COBOL programming, JCL batch processes, and CICS online transactions. Focus on stabilizing production systems, solving complex failures in DB2 environments, and implementing application enhancements.
Location: Remote with occasional onsite visits in Mexico City (Puerta Polanco)

What you will do
- Develop and maintain COBOL programs and create/update batch processes using JCL.
- Provide technical support and handle incidents and service requests for Mainframe-based applications.
- Analyze and troubleshoot failures in batch and online processes (CICS) and perform transaction tracing.
- Ensure data integrity within DB2 environments.
- Collaborate with technical, functional, and business teams under a Staff Augmentation model for GNP Seguros.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with audit and IT governance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in COBOL Mainframe environments.
- Experience in production support for critical systems.
- Basic English proficiency (technical reading) required.
- Ability to work remotely within Mexico with occasional onsite visits if required.
Nice to have
- Java Front-End experience for end-to-end traceability.
- Knowledge of monitoring and job scheduling tools.
- Experience with ITIL framework and ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
