Salary: $262,200–$406,400 USD annually in Seattle and Washington, D.C.; the general range is $238,400–$369,400 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Develop a forward-looking polio modeling strategy with IDM leadership, the polio program strategy team, and regional country offices.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of modeling projects responsive to scientific advances, program products, and changing eradication priorities.
  • Lead dynamical and statistical modeling approaches to assess interventions, transmission reduction, disease impact, and maintenance of elimination.
  • Design studies to measure the impact of polio programs on disease and transmission.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary work across IDM research pillars and Foundation teams to deliver actionable analytical insights.
  • Manage direct reports, project portfolios, research reviews, and collaborative working practices.

Requirements

  • PhD in infectious-disease dynamical or statistical modeling, epidemiology, polio-relevant immuno-epidemiology, vaccinology, or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated success in complex, multidisciplinary research environments and in translating modeling results into public-health policy impact.
  • Advanced knowledge of dynamical models, statistical techniques, spatial analytics, advanced coding, and AI capabilities.
  • Experience managing analytical workflows, teams, and multiple projects in a public-health context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, cultural, language, and geographic barriers.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States; immigration-related sponsorship is not provided.
