Employee Benefits Operations Leader

Location: Minneapolis, MN, USA

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop operational team members, including performance discussions, onboarding, and career development.
• Oversee daily employee benefits operations to maintain service quality, efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to established workflows.
• Identify and implement process improvements, maintain procedures and documentation, and support workload and resource planning.
• Support quality controls, audits, compliance reviews, corrective actions, and escalation of operational risks.
• Drive adoption of employee benefits technology platforms, support data integrity, and participate in system enhancements and implementations.
• Coordinate with service, sales, compliance, carrier, and vendor partners to resolve issues and support business objectives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, operations, or business process management.
• Experience leading teams, projects, or operational initiatives.
• Strong understanding of employee benefits operations, workflows, service delivery, operational controls, and compliance requirements.
• Working knowledge of agency management systems and employee benefits technology platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Life, Accident & Health License, or the ability to obtain and maintain licensure.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Leadership experience in an employee benefits brokerage, consulting firm, or insurance carrier.
• Experience with BenefitPoint, Salesforce, AMS platforms, or similar agency management systems.
• CEBS, GBA, or another relevant industry designation.
• Experience supporting technology implementations and change management initiatives.
