Assistant Controller (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA; onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The office is expected to transition from Paces Ferry to Atlantic Station.

What you will do

• Lead the financial close cycle and oversee accounting operations and reporting.
• Manage an Accounting Manager and an AP Manager, supporting teams with more than 10 indirect reports.
• Design and monitor internal financial controls and coordinate annual external audits.
• Ensure US GAAP compliance, research complex accounting matters, and prepare technical accounting memos and policies.
• Oversee ERP enhancements or migrations and drive automation across accounting workflows.
• Provide backup support for treasury activities, including payment releases and cash management.

Requirements

• CPA with 13+ years of progressive experience, including Big 4 or professional services and publicly traded fintech or SaaS experience.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance, with experience leading monthly book close processes and preparing audit-ready deliverables.
• At least 4 years of direct people management experience, including management of accounting managers.
• Experience with a large ERP such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar; Workday Financials is preferred.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience improving processes in a multi-entity environment and evaluating AI-powered accounting or automation tools.

• Workday Financials experience.
• Experience managing ERP enhancements or migrations.
• Experience with BlackLine, FloQast, or similar close management platforms.
• Master's degree or MBA.
