Manager, Manufacturing Science and Technology (Biologics)

Location: Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada

Salary: CAD 107,731–168,330 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits

hirify.global’s BIOVECTRA business develops and manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients and advanced therapeutics for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

What you will do

• Lead process design from bench scale through scale-up, including equipment selection, process flows, lifecycle planning, and technical feasibility.
• Lead technology transfer activities and enforce best practices for identifying and mitigating process risks.
• Perform process engineering analyses covering cycle time, equipment fit, required technologies, scale-up risks, costs, and alternative manufacturing plans.
• Review process science and CMC information for incoming projects and coordinate technology transfer plans with cross-functional teams.
• Support the identification, scale-up, and qualification of critical process parameters, critical quality attributes, critical aspects, and control strategies.
• Lead or support project deliverables, technology procurement, business development evaluations, and departmental personnel management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• At least two years of leadership experience.
• Experience with biologics drug substance projects.
• At least six years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar regulated environment.
• Ability to provide employee guidance and training, enforce SOP adherence, and manage performance objectives.

Nice to have

• Project management experience.
• Experience starting up and commissioning facilities, process equipment, and instrumentation.
• Financial acumen and understanding of business metrics.
• Basic knowledge of applicable codes and quality or regulatory standards.
