Software Engineer III (AWS/Python)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; specific in-office days each month are required

Annual base salary: CAD 111,308.33–155,435.00

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, high-performance backend systems and microservices.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of complex platform features.
• Drive architectural decisions across APIs, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Lead design and code reviews, coordinate delivery across workstreams, and improve reliability, observability, automation, and developer tooling.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical documentation, architecture standards, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Advanced Python proficiency and experience with object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience building distributed systems with microservices and AWS managed services such as Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, and EventBridge.
• Strong Git, testing, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and maintainability practices.
• French-English bilingualism is required, including fluent French and full professional English proficiency.
