TL;DR
Sr. Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++): Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain embedded software and firmware for multiple hardware platforms with an accent on real-time and Linux-based solutions, MCU peripherals, and hardware/software integration. Focus on debugging firmware and hardware interaction, performing system bring-up with lab equipment, and optimizing performance and reliability.
Location: Brno, Czech Republic; hybrid work with a maximum of two work-from-home days per week

What you will do
- Design and develop embedded software and firmware in C and C++.
- Deliver real-time and Linux-based embedded solutions across multiple hardware platforms.
- Integrate firmware with hardware components, microcontrollers, peripherals, drivers, bootloaders, and system initialization.
- Perform system bring-up, verification, debugging, and performance optimization using laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams on validation and troubleshooting.
- Maintain technical documentation, version control, development processes, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of embedded software or firmware development experience.
- Strong knowledge of C and C++, RTOS and/or embedded Linux.
- Understanding of MCU peripherals and protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and Ethernet.
- Experience reading schematics, debugging hardware issues, and using oscilloscopes and analyzers.
- Strong written and spoken English; availability for occasional business travel of up to 10%.
Nice to have
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins, Docker, or GenICam.
- Unit testing, code coverage, system requirements, or task-tracking experience with Jama or Jira.
- Python scripting and Linux development tools.
- Development experience for Windows or Android platforms.
- Customer communication experience or experience leveraging AI for productivity.
