Community Impact Capital Fund Investments Associate (LIHTC)

Location: Clayton, MO; preferred locations are Columbus, St. Louis, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, or New York. Workplace type: Office.

Salary: $70,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support the VP, Equity Investment Manager, and help lead underwriting and project management for LIHTC fund investments with syndicator partners.
• Manage relationships with syndicator partners, CIC loan officers, external developers, CIC Originations, Credit, and the Huntington CRA team.
• Act as the primary syndicator contact during fund underwriting and closing and review fund documents, including private placement memorandums and subscription documents.
• Build financial models covering upper-tier benefit schedules, property grids, debt and equity investments, and related analyses.
• Prepare and present transaction memorandums covering deal structure, budgets, guarantor analysis, compliance, risks, mitigants, and final recommendations.
• Track CRA investment goals and treasury management activities, represent the bank at industry events, and support policy discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• At least 6 years of LIHTC experience.
• At least 4 years of LIHTC or commercial real estate underwriting and closing experience.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree from an accredited university; finance, accounting, or business degree preferred.
• At least 8 years of LIHTC experience and 6 years of LIHTC or commercial real estate underwriting and closing experience.
• Tax credit syndications experience and advanced knowledge of LIHTC fund investments.
• Technical knowledge of the LIHTC program and familiarity with State and Historic Tax Credits and debt products.
• High proficiency in Excel modeling of debt and equity investments.
• Strong presentation skills for Credit and other internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of financial, accounting, or technology systems.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure, identify problems, and recommend appropriate solutions.
